Dr. Mitch Pollock
Dr. Mitch Pollock
Started his career in the U.S. Air Force in 1977 at the age of 18 years. He joined the Security/Military police and was selected to K-9 school. While in the Air Force, he was formally trained to handle patrol dogs, as well as narcotics and explosive detector dogs. Mitch performed explosive detector security for several dignitaries to include the Secretary of Defense, Vice-President, and the President.
As a narcotics detector dog handler, Mitch was responsible for numerous drug finds and arrests. He has been stationed at numerous state-side bases, and his overseas tours include: Japan, the Philippines, Egypt, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Bahrain. Mitch was also an Air Force K-9 trainer and kennel master. He retired as an active duty Senior Non-Commissioned officer and was awarded the Meritorious Service medal.
Mitch also worked at a Florida police academy as an FDLE certified K-9 instructor where he trained police agency dog teams in patrol and narcotic duties, as well as hosting police K-9 seminars and training.
Your instructor started teaching civilian dog teams in 1995. He has helped hundreds of pet owners meet their dog's training needs. He is a member of APDT, IACP, NADOI, and CCPT. Mitch has earned seven college degrees which include two Masters Degrees and a Ph.D.
Mitch is a former Florida police chief and a graduate of the FBI National Academy located in Quantico, Virginia. He keeps current in his skills by attending advanced training seminars around the country and has been invited to judge K-9 competitions.
